Example projects for government facilities
Birch Bayh Courthouse
Summit County Jail
E-Solutions provided a controls upgrade for this large facility on a very tight timeline with no equipment shut down. This project leveraged the customers investment in their current Johnson Controls BMS and provided a state of the art, Honeywell WEBs, energy efficient system.
Minton Capehart FOB- This was a two year long project that was part of the ARRA initiative to help update federal buildings to run more efficiently. The work was done entirely at night while the building was fully open and operational during the day. Demo work included removing about 90% of the existing HVAC equipment along with all the associated pneumatic controls. This project included four air handlers, with two of them being large fan wall AHUs that were capable of moving 135,000 CFM to supply 5 floors of VAVs. We installed over 500 VAVs with hydronic reheat coils and 2 new steam heat exchangers for heating water throughout the building. The building itself was entirely made of reinforced concrete and all controls installations were done in conduit.
Birch Bayh Federal Courthouse- This was a renovation projection to the historic Federal Court House located in downtown Indianapolis. Since this courthouse still needed to be operational, all work was done after the building had closed for the day. Part of this project entailed removing almost all of the outdated and inefficient existing HVAC equipment. New equipment installed included 25 single zone air handlers and 4 large dual deck multi-zone air handlers that fed down into 250 dual duct VAVs. This was difficult to install due to the historic nature of the building and the need to preserve as much of it as possible.
